Three Reasons BNE is a Douche

My buddy Adam Quirk and I share the same disgust for BNE

At the risk of sounding completely uncool, I think this guy is a douche on par with balloon-boy’s dad and every other publicity-seeking, talentless, egomaniacal dickface in our society.

Here’s why:

1. Three-letter stickers in a nondescript vanilla font are not creative. If you’re tagging to protest against advertising, which everyone can agree is mostly crap, why not try to make something creative? Maybe because you can’t.

2. Tagging is worse than pissing to mark your territory. At least piss has distinct odor and pheromones unique to the individual expelling it. Three-letter stickers all look the same and boring. See #1. If I saw someone pissing on my building I’d probably tackle them and rub their face in it. If I see a BNE sticker, I tear it down. Bad art deserves to be punished. It’s the only way the bad artist learns.

3. You’re not a fucking victim. The statement below about having to look at the billion-dollar company’s logo sounds like the whining of an asshole. You’re some egomaniac douchebag with enough money to print tens of thousands of stickers and travel all over the world, not a victim of corporate irresponsibility.

Companies advertise to spread ideas. The idea behind a Starbucks logo on a billboard is “we have coffee, want some?”. The idea behind a BNE sticker on a street lamp is “look at me”. Which of these two is offering something useful to society?
